What is Salsa?
Salsa is one of the most popular and energetic Latin dances, perfect for beginners who want to have fun while learning. Originating from a mix of Cuban son and New York jazz in the 1930s, salsa evolved in the 60s into the style we know today.
In our beginner salsa classes, you’ll learn:
- How to lead and follow through simple hand connections.
- Basic turn patterns, body isolations, and footwork.
- The confidence to enjoy Latin dance parties in Amsterdam and beyond!
Salsa is upbeat, social, and an incredible way to stay active while meeting people.
What is Bachata?
Bachata is a smoother, more intimate Latin dance, born in the Dominican Republic in the 1960s. A mix of bolero, Cuban son, and merengue, it’s known for its romantic and relaxed vibe.
In our beginner bachata classes, you’ll learn:
- The basic steps and techniques to connect with your partner.
- How to create fluid movements using breathing and frame.
- A mix of bachata styles to help you explore this beautiful dance fully.
Bachata is slower than salsa, making it perfect for beginners who want to feel the music and build confidence.

If you miss more than two classes, you can also schedule a private session to catch up in just one hour before rejoining the group.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds if it disrupts the balance of the group. However, if we find someone to take your spot, we’ll gladly process the refund.
